Ukraine Fatigue

Exodus & Exiles 

Ukrainian women and children were forced to flee alone. Their exodus began on February 24th, 2022. Fathers, husbands, and brothers wept as they disappeared over the horizon. They remained behind to preserve some semblance of life as it once existed. To date, over 12,000,000 have been exiled from home. 

Within weeks of Russia’s attack, Disciple Daily’s leadership began to recognize God’s calling to serve Ukrainian refugees once they crossed the border in Moldova and Romania. Once the decision was made to “go,” many questions surfaced. Place yourself in our position. What would have been your questions if God told you to run toward the war in Ukraine?

But we are there.

Our team (Blake, Alexis, Dali, and Morgan) flew out of San Antonio, Texas on June 6th. They are still on the ground at Biserica Crestina Emanuel, a church-based refugee center in Galati, Romania. They are less than 125 miles from Odesa, Ukraine. Refugees continue to arrive almost daily. Frequently, the first people they see are the members of Disciple Daily’s team, The Fellowship. Our people greet them 24 hours a day, assign sleeping quarters, feed them, clean dorms, linens, and laundry. They look for opportunities to engage. By the time they return home, The Fellowship will have been serving Ukrainian refugees and regional first responders for eight weeks. If interested, you can read their postings from the field.   

Five Loaves & Two Fish

The total cost to transport and maintain The Fellowship in Eurasia for eight weeks is about $16,000. We still need to raise about $6,000 to fund our “Summer Serve” fully. Let me be clear. We have the money to complete our eight-week mission, but using General Fund resources for this project will impact the rest of our 2022 ministry plans.  

The Scriptures are clear. “You don’t have because you don’t ask.” So here is the ask, is it possible that God has entrusted you with “five loaves and two fish” for this purpose? Please help if you can.
