At some point in everyone’s life, people ask four questions. From the dawn of history, the critical questions of life have remained the same.
Where do I come from?
Why do I exist?
How shall I live?
What happens when I die?
These questions represent everyone’s personal quest to identify their origin, purpose, moral compass, and destiny. The Bible alone contains the answers all the important questions your family, friends, neighbors, and colleagues are seeking.
As a Jesus follower, you were created to help the people you know answers these questions.
Make Disciples Like Jesus
The Apostle Paul told the disciples he trained that “faith comes by hearing.” People need to hear the Good News in a way that is easy to understand so they can answer the questions that change their lives and affect their destiny. Bible storytelling is a strategy for accomplishing this. It is a strategy so old, it seems brand new. Told in an orderly and disciplined manner, hearers discover their Creator (origin) and His purpose for them. That purpose is belonging (morality) in a community that is eternal (destiny).
Oral Bible discovery facilitates non-threatening discipling of non-believers towards personal belief in Jesus and eternal life. Discipling new believers is done by demonstrating how to live what the Bible teaches through the continued use of oral Bible discovery. This is accomplished through personal relationships, by disciplers walking beside those they are discipling where they are. Most often this stage of discipling is done outside the local church. Finally, disciplers help new believers become disciplers themselves by training others they have learned leaned to do for the rest of their lives.
