Intentional

By now, you have likely received dozens of end-of-year reports.

I have put this off as long as possible. My delay is not procrastination. It is simply that God has continued to do exceedingly beyond our wildest dreams right up until today. Don’t worry. While I am bursting inside to tell you everything, Noemí has given me a word restriction. 

One of the words that have characterized Disciple Daily since 2011 is “intentional.” Our intentional prayers, planning, and practices have produced visible fruit through the lives of the people we disciple. God is using Disciple Daily’s intentional training to make disciples who make disciples, generationally. This year, their reports from around the world spur us forward into 2022.

Bear With Me 

I want to brag on three things God has done.

• Until this year, Disciple Daily operated out of a bedroom office.In January, the Lord added Keith and Alice Myer, along with Lori Thompson, to our family. Lori graciously gifted us a five-acre property for The Fellowship’s home base. We are partners in this property, and Lord willing, Disciple Daily will own it outright in the future.

  Our new ministry home is a gift that only God could provide. Keith and Alice are the Directors of The Fellowship. Four young people have committed a year to study the entire Bible together, practicing what it teaches individually and as a community, and discover how to train new disciples in this manner for the rest of their lives. Morgan, Alexis, Blake, and Dalí are being transformed right before our eyes every day!

• Around the world, Christian martial artists understand the potential for using their discipline to introduce their students to Jesus and demonstrate the disciple-making lifestyle.Twenty-one of them came together in Istanbul just before COVID struck for training on doing this together. At that training, I met Danny (Korea), Nell (Philippines), and Chris (Malaysia). We covenanted to meet weekly via Zoom for a month following our time together in Turkey. We still meet every Saturday at 7 A.M. my time. They are learning how to use a Bible storytelling strategy in their contexts.

  Nell and Chris started meeting in their dojos with their students as a local church. Earlier this year, the Lord took Chris home. Vera (Chris’ wife) has taken his place in our group. She continues what they started as a couple in their dojo. Daniel, another of our disciples from Atlanta, has joined our group.

• COVID has changed how many people function within the Church that Jesus continues to build. Globally thousands of people are now connected with Disciple Daily through our website. This year alone, repeat visitors from over 140 countries have accessed DiscipleDaily.org.Why do they return, over and over again?

  They have learned to “come and see” our ever-expanding disciple-making resources. They are making what we offer their own for use in their discipleship contexts. We don’t own anything. What we offer belongs to the Church. Everything available on our website is given away free of charge to disciplers around the world. They find hundreds of training videos and articles, along with personal stories from other disciples.

  Our donors make all of this happen.

Intentional 

Disciple Daily operates according to a plan ordained by God, demonstrated by Jesus, and executed by those He trained.

Now it’s our turn, and yours!

Consider the potential. Use what we offer to disciple one person throughout 2022. At the end of the year, there will be two disciples. In 2023, both of you disciple someone else. There will be four disciples. Keep it up, year after year. At the end of ten years, there could potentially be 1,024 disciples because you were intentional every year with one person who needs to experience Jesus in action through their own lives. What is the potential of this intentional disciple-making activity after 30 years?

We understand. Many will not follow through on this. But what if God gave you a 5% return on your intentional disciple-making investment. The eternal results could be staggering. Do the math. What is 5% of 2 to the 30th power?

Here is my challenge to you in 2022. Become an intentional disciple-maker this year. That is what we are continuing to do. It is my prayer that you will join us. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask them.
