THE FELLOWSHIP 2021-22
On November 4th, Brian Brennt, a devote follower of Jesus, a husband, father, friend, and co-founder of The Send and Circuit Riders, passed away from mounting medical conditions. I was fortunate enough to have been taught by him during my time with Circuit Riders and was impacted by his life and ministry. For this blog, I wanted to share how I came to know Brian and the impact he made around the world for the glory of Jesus Christ. His legacy lives on through those who he has impacted.
While on a trip to Dallas Texas in 2017, I was walking around on a college campus when I heard the voice of the Lord speak, “I will be sending you to college campuses in the future.” With the fear of the Lord in my heart, I walked back to my friend’s dorm room urgently. I did not know what to do except to call a friend and walk through what I just heard. I called my friend, Nelson, and shared with him. He prayed with me and shared with me about a program he thought I would be interested in called Circuit Riders by YWAM in Huntington Beach, California. I had never heard about this program until he shared about it. Circuit Riders is a 6-month program that trains and equips missionaries to do the Great Commission. After I spoke on the phone with him, I followed Circuit Riders on Instagram.
Worship night at the CR house.
The following summer, I moved back home to California after college and saw that Circuit Riders were having an event called CR Monday night. I remember going with my sister to this event because I was interested in the Circuit Riders programs. I immediately felt connected with this on-fire community for Jesus. After we worshipped for an hour, the speaker came up to deliver a message. The speaker for the night was Brian Brennt. I remember being in such wonder of Brian’s passion, zeal, and love for Jesus Christ. His passion for the youth and our generation was communicated through every single word he preached. He preached the story of Jesus healing the demonic. Brian explained the power of the Holy Spirit in a way that was so impactful to me. Since that night, I continued to go to CR Monday nights and ended up in January 2020 going to the Circuit Riders Experience School. Brian was one of our consistent teachers that came in and shared challenging insight and wisdom on the stories of Jesus. Brian constantly challenged and pushed my thinking when it came to making disciples. I’ve never met anyone else who had such a passion for reaching the lost souls. Brian knew the Bible well, and he met that knowledge with a pure passion and an outcry for lost souls to come to know Jesus. That is something I will take with me for the rest of my life.
The Brennt family legacy lives on and the glory of the Lord continues to be reflected. Brian’s wife battled a autoimmune disease for 38 years, and God miraculously healed her at the Send Conference in Orlando on February 23, 2019. Brian battled an auto-immune disease as well and passed on November 4th. Christy was healed on Earth, and Brian was healed in heaven. Yet, God has been glorified through both of these lives and healings. See video below:
I consider it an honor and privilege to have met Brian and to have been taught by him. The things he taught and the passion he shared with will always be in my heart when it comes to sharing the Gospel. Brian included everyone in the missions movement. Regardless of race, gender, or age he loved and commissioned everyone to go and make disciples. I don’t see a better way to live than that …to love God, love others, and live to give God glory.
Thank you, Brian Brennt, for making disciples and loving Jesus. See you in eternity.
