A Change of Heart

Happy Friday, everyone back home! Our team has been in Romania now for 5 weeks, and our time here is coming to a close soon. We will be heading back to Moldova for the last part of our trip.

There are so many stories I could share and things I’ve learned but the biggest thing I have noticed in my relationship with God is how He has radically changed my heart here. He has strengthened me in ways I didn’t know were possible. How has He done this? God has revealed to me the gift of teaching on my life, and has answered my prayer to grow in my ability to care and love on children.

Proverbs 22:6 says, “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.”

We had the opportunity to train and teach some students at a VBS a few songs related to scripture. Alexis remembered a song from when she was a child and used that to teach one of the songs. I know that these songs will  remain with these kids for a  time! I have loved spending time with the kids.

Last night, we had another Chosen night and at the end of the episode, Jesus taught His disciples to pray. I invited the people there to repeat the Lord’s prayer, in Russian and English. It was a powerful time.

Lastly, I would like to express how I have seen the hard work, this year and from my life before this program, coming together for such a time as this. Last summer, I applied for a summer program to do work internationally in crisis areas, and look where I am, in a crisis area helping refugees. Although I didn’t go with that organization, God gave me my heart’s desire, and even allowed me the freedom to incorporate resources such as The Chosen to point people to the Bible.

Now, with the hand signs, Israel trip, and other discipleship methods, I feel confident that wherever I go after this season, I have more than enough with Christ.

Peace be with you.
